Hailing from the vast plains of Illinois, USA, we are excited to announce a new addition to the Error Broadcast family: iL.
Not much is known about this young cat besides the record he will release with us in the beat tape series is all about love and despair. Unfortunately, in this very order.

apoLLo1ne3hree, which is the enigmatic name of his tape, consists of 16 tracks at less than 20 minutes. Irrespective of the beat tape format, iL is sketching atmospheres and ambiences rather than beats. His music is adventurous and the opposite of a comfort listen. Random like shooting stars, his beats fly into the black, not following any common metric patterns. Synthesizer textures interfere with twisted vocal samples, once sick, once bitter-sweet and heart-rendering. Dub, Hip Hop, Ambient, Soul – you know about these styles but you have not heard iLs mutant combination. Consider yourself: warned.

A lifetime resident of LA, Brian is fully interested in the ever changing intersection of heart and ability in the fields of music and sound as you can clearly hear from this mix for Error Broadcast.
Neighbours make their appearance (devonwho, Baths, yuk., a.d.l.r.) but there is definitely more than friends’ music on this mix. Brian digs into experimental Jazz and old school Electronica, as well as Ambient and Psychedelic Rock, condensing all elements into 25 minutes of emotive fluxus. We invite you to get lost with the final part of the mix where Brian showcases his latest experimentations in Sax intonation, texture and deep drones. Shallow and depth. Worth the trip!

Still crapulent from the recent Russia fest we are shifting our focus westwards - however, only a few 100 kilometers. Next up is Sir Montgomery Clunk, brilliant producer and bon vivant hailing from Romania's buzzing capital Bucharest.
Monty blesses us with a seven-track EP entitled Superbus that tells the story of fiction, HEAT and back-stabbers...

Musically speaking, Superbus is quite a versatile thing. There is a mesmerizing darkness to all of Monty's tracks, still he has a knack for melodies and is afraid of catchiness not a bit. Without a doubt we are facing night time music here. Describing his beats as a mixture from Hip Hop, Dubstep and Electronica might not sound exciting but once you experienced the magic craftsmanship of Montgomery Clunk you will not have a hard time to believe this album is indeed something special.

In 2009 the Italian IDA/ITF federation introduced a new experimental category dedicated to beat conductors, the Beat the Beat, which aim is scouting Italian producers and beat makers. This year Error Broadcast has been deeply involved in the selection process and today we're glad to announce the 5 participants of the contest.
The defending champ 2Phast will clash beats with Johnnyboy, Digi G'alessio, A N.I.Q. Joint and Herrera. The winner will fly to the amazing Satta Outside festival next august showing Italy's finest.

We want to say a big "thank you" to all the great musicians who sent material for the selections and we invite everyone to join us November 20 at Locomotiv club in Bologna where IDA ITALY 2010 will take place along with a huge line-up of djs and performers. More info on the facebook event page.

For the fourth installation of our mixtape series, we are glad to welcome UK producer S.Maharba. The name is notoriously surrounded with fuzzy images of pin-up girls, however not much is known of the person behind this masquerade of 1970’s sex idols. His self titled debut was released in 2008 and turned a lot of heads worldwide, eventually being re-issued on vinyl byOcular Science.

S.Maharba’s tape for EB compiles the most adventurous beat music you can find to date. Dirty L.A. is featured with Juj, Kutmah, Durlin Lurt and Leaving Records boss MatthewDavid. AEED, ichiro_ and OL from our team make another appearance, as well as EB future wunderkind iL. UK stands tall with Kato, Young Montana? and shooting stars Forest Swords. Most tracks are condensed to the very essence, looped and blurred into each other while S.Maharba lavishly embraces everything from Progressive Rock to reverb-laden Ambient: this is what makes this mix one of the best we had in a long, long while.

Montgomery Clunk is another youngster hailing from the Eastern parts of Europe, this time Bucharest, Romania. He embraces so many styles of electronic music it is hard to believe it makes sense eventually. However, it does. Starting from Hip Hop and Dubstep, you can find Ambient and classic Electronica as well as a neat Pop edge and a certain leaning toward progressive songwriting.

Original Cultures 'From Inner Space' / 07.07.2010

Original Cultures returns to Bologna, Italy, with 'From Inner Space' a unique audio/visual showcase featuring music from Katzuma and his Expanding Disco Machine and visuals by Opificio Ciclope. During four days the two collectives will be creating music and visuals for an exclusive one hour showcase on July 9.
Katzuma will explore the evolution of black music in America from the funk of the 70s to the early electronic mutations of the 80s while Opificio Ciclope will provide an added dimension to the music with visuals to transform the venue.

First Error Broadcast's live events are going to happen in less than two weeks around Italian EB headquarter (Modena/Bologna). Get ready for some serious business...



April 9th will see Fulgeance's very first live-set in Italy at Mattatoio club for an Error Broadcast production in collaboration with Homework rec and Vinilificio. Full line-up and infos on facebook!
The day after things will get even more serious in Bologna for the IDA Celebration Event at Locomotiv club; this year IDA champions (Scratchbusters, Mandrayq and 2Phast) will face the Beat Dimension Crew represented by Jay Scarlett, Cinnaman and James Blake. Wooop!

Lucid Freaks remix album is coming strong in a week and today we feature Coco Bryce, one of the hottest producer who joined us for this mission.
Hailing from Breda, south Netherlands, Coco already appeared on Harmönia's compilations (Skweee anyone?) and had a smashing split with mighty Slugabed on MYOR label. His sound is just beyond boundaries, call it Skweee, Wonky...it's just frigging dope and deep as we like it.

Together with the Lowriders Collective we're glad to host one of the three remixes he made out of Pixelord's Quartz Boy...you won't hear this Fake Skweee Mix on the final remix album so you better grab it while it's hot.

As some of you might have noticed, some things changed here @ EB since out last release. While all music is available for free as 192kbit MP3 download, lossless audio is on purchase via bandcamp now. This includes Pixelord, Shlohmo and the ABC beatape (including RBMA adept Swede:art), which is, for the first time, available in losless quality at all. We tried to keep the prices real fair (0.50€ / track).

For the future, there will be free releases and records we are giving away on purchase exclusively. Expect free music by KenLo Craqnuques and a pretty epic Pixelord remix EP very soon. Furthermore, 7" vinyl goodness is on the way, including German producers B-Ju and Comfort Fit, plus the long-delayed AEED vinyl single. The corresponding digital audio will NOT be free. We hope to bankroll the vinyl this way, and gain some extra for the artists. Peace!
